What is AIF ?

AIF, Associazione Italiana Fonoamatori, is a cultural national organization, which was born in Parma in 1967, aiming at gathering together all those people who are interested in sound recording both from the technical point of view and from the artistic-creative one, without making a profession of it or beside theirs.

What does AIF deal with ?

AIF contributes to the spreading of ideas on the large number of possibilities of use and on the creative usage of recording, including audio applications concerning videos and photographic audio-visual media (diaporama).

Would you like to be updated, involved in the making of the newsletter or in the sonic correspondance ?

The contacts among all the members are kept through the two-monthly newsletter, they are increased by the "nastrogiro": an exchange of sonic correspondances through magnetic tape.

Are you short of "raw material" ? Would you like to take part in satisfying associative activities ?

AIF has got a sound archive, it organizes a national contest and the selection for the international one. Every year it gathers in a general meeting in different Italian cities.

Would you like to have your works listened to in the studios of the main European radio and TV stations ?

AIF has been a member of FICS, Fédération Internationale des Chasseurs de Son, since 1968, representing Italian sound-hunters on an international scale.

AIF takes part in the international contest CIMES, which is held by the broadcasting companies of several countries.

Have you ever had any problem to carry out live recordings ?

When you subscribe to AIF, you are given a card in which there is an invitation, in four languages, addressed to authorities and private citizens, to allow members to carry out audio and video recordings.

Would you like to turn your pastime into something useful and with an aim, saving also some money ?

AIF has established very good relations with similar associations, organizations, schools and the electroacoustic industry for a long time.

The bigger the number of members will be, the higher the possibility to make sound-hunters' voice heard in the more qualified circles.
